I loved cesperanza's Written by the Victors a lot, the way most of the people who read it did. Here is my little artistic contribution.

Also to blame are wihluta and aesc, who said I should draw this when I first hinted at it. They both did wonders based on this fic.

I'm not great at writing references so basically the story behind the picture is this:
It was discovered in the personal collection of some noble who had acquired it from another in an auction many years before, it now has been donated to a museum.
There exists some controversy about weather the family actually posed for the painting, was made from photographs or holograms, was made from the imagination of the artist or a mixture of all of the above. Supporting this hypothesis is the fact that both of Sheppard's sons look almost exactly like him with no hint of their mother's parentage and that John and Rodney's daughter looks like neither. On the other hand, both Sheppard and Emagen look similar to other documented findings.

If anyone wants to write a proper version of the above, please do.

John and Rodney's daughter has Rodney's nose, and she looks a lot like Jeannie. Not to mention it looks like she's got Rodney's gorgeous blue eyes.

Nope, I didn't take an inordinate amount of time looking. *whistles*

Oh! *loves you* You noticed all that I was trying to do and didn't think I actually succeeded in! That *was* supposed to Jeannie's hair and face (but of course the historians never saw Jeannie so they wouldn't know ;) ) and the nose and eyes are Rodney's (actually I overcompensated for the boys and there is hardly any John in her).
