Presents for me!

I have been working really hard in order to become Dr. Anna Luna and hopefully I will achieve it by next year. Unfortunately this means I have been slacking in replies and art, but let me tell you about the things that have made my day recently:

looking4tarzan sent me the most amazing notebook for my study. I LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART, IT IS AMAZING and every time I look at it I smile and remember when I went to England so many years ago and went to Pegasus 2 Con and met looking4tarzan and so many other amazing people. I am using it now to keep track of my experiments.

I used one of the robots in my laboratory as a model:





achih sent me delicious chocolates, a soap and a cream. IT IS REALLY GOOD! I LOVE IT AND MY SKIN IS AWESOME NOW.

I also received several virtual gifts! A birthday present from runpunkrun. And runpunkrun, fififolle and looking4tarzan also sent me snowman cookies! My profile page is so pretty now! THANK YOU!

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! I HOPE I CAN BE WORTHY OF ALL THIS AWESOMENESS!

I will be a doctor in engineering. I am studying at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

That robot is so cute. It is a commercially available research robot called Nao by Aldebaran Robotics.

Those notebooks are cool. Though I love the robot more...soooo cute! *agrees with londonsabre that they should do a toy version* I would have sent you a card and gift if I had your address...

:) I really love the notebook. I love the sentiment too, when I start freaking out, it's a good reminder.

I want a toy!Nao as well, they are awesome.

I know you would have sent something too (I really wasn't tying to guilt people into sending me stuff, I just wanted to appreciate and say thanks to those who did). I have moved 4 times in 3 years an am moving again in 3 months. The living situation of students is crazy! I'll send you my updated address when I move.

Also, thanks for the card with the cat(which I forgot about yesterday *facepalm*) , my cat totally used to steal the Christmas ornaments an put them in my bed and the bathroom...

:) Work is hard, but it is also a lot of fun. I really enjoy working in AI.

And that notebook is the best. I am using it to write all my research and fanart notes.

Ooo, I just saw a similar Robot at Muenster's museum on theme Bionics.
It seems they're trying to make a robots' soccer team. I'm not sure if it's funny or stupid. Every time I hear something like that, I remember the manga Pluto or some Sfy movie about robots.

Anyway, your Nao is much cuter than the one I saw XDD

The Robot football championship uses Nao robots now too, although mine is the latest generation. It might sound like something silly to have Robots do, however it deals with the most important issues of robot control: path planing, choosing between actions, teamwork, inter-robot communication, collision avoidance, balance,... Anything developed for football can be used for other robot actions. Also it is fun and encourages teams from all over the world to come up with better solutions. I don't participate, but many robot advantages we see today sprang from these kind of challenges. :D Yay Robot!sports!!!

The cream is very nice, my skin is much improved, although I still put clearasil on the most persistent ones.

I LOVED SHERLOCK OMG (In order of love: 3, 1, 2), WE MUST GO ON SKYPE AND FANGIRL ABOUT IT.

Gomen, gomen. I'm always late at replying on LJ ^^;;
As AI goes, my concerns are purely ethical and if AI develops in this "soccer team way" direction, it has to have a inherent, incorporated mechanism, that stops any further free self development of software.
Another concern is the classical abuse of these AI. I can understand the joy of an researcher as yourself are, but as we know from historical facts, usually they tend to get abused. Anyway reality is that world has to keep turning and people too... ^_~


Loved Sherlock, and must skype about it XD
