Fanart: The Doctor & Rose - This House Is Not For Sale

I've been reading a lot of Doctor Who fanfiction lately and I came upon this fanfic called This House Is Not For Sale by centaurea_m.

"The house was smallish, yellow, and appeared to stand at a slight tilt. The windows were oval and there was a series of deep scratches in the metallic door, as if something very hungry and sharp had repeatedly tried to get in. A crooked telenet receiver hung jauntily from the roof. The overall effect was tumbledown-futuristic."

Oh. Mygod. I actually squeed out loud when I saw this. Wow, wow and wow thrice!! Thank you so much! *huge grin* That is *perfect*, and unbelievably well drawn, and I'm just sitting here completely dazed that part of my story has somehow stepped out into visual reality. ...I think I love you. Wow.

I'm so glad you think I got the details right, I tried to bring the house you envisioned to life. It was so beautifully detailed in your writing.

Of course you can post it anywhere you like, it's yours after all. It would be great if you could post a link back here so people can leave feedback on the drawing (I get so little Who feedback...)

Also, you should write more Who fic, I might get inspired again... (I still have this vague idea to draw the scene where Rose comes home to find him working on the supermarket trolley and the toaster in the middle of the living-room...)

Aaah, I think you could do that bit wonderfully. please do if you feel so inclined :) You're definitely welcome to draw anything from my stories. and yeah, I don't see myself stopping writing Whofic for a while...the fandom definitely has its claws in me! ;)

...sorry I have to comment again because I can't stop staring at this. you got the skylight!! and the glimpse of street behind is just perfect in its grottiness...and the garden...and the scratches on the door...and the colour, and the beautiful ricketiness of it all...and the daffodils! Ok will go and lie down for a moment to recover now. Sigh.

:D Thanks a lot! I'm glad you think the outfit works, I was trying to capture the fact that it changes colors according to the weather, that's why it is both pink and blue.

Also I'm rather glad they're recognizable as Rose and the doctor and nut just some generic blond and her nerdy pinstriped friend.

The backgrounds always take the longest to draw and even longer to color, but in the end I think they're always worth it.

I'm glad you think the Doctor and Rose look good, when I was drawing the house, I realized how *small* I'd have to draw them in order to keep the perspective. On paper they're about 4 cm big.
