I think it's a neat idea! After the rush of christmas fic and art exchanges and deadlines has died down, I think there'd be quite a bit of interest. Were you thinking of making it more like a challenge run in your lj, or set up with a community? If you'd like a community, I'd be happy to make you mod of the sgart_exchange comm. It's only slightly used *g* and it's sort of a similar theme.
BTW, would you like the original of your birthday pic? I just send out a pile of christmas mail today and remembered I hadn't offered before :)
