:D I think John would drag Rodney to Disneyworld to irritate him with non-lethal stuff and get his mind of things (he would also enjoy sending every dressed-up character after him). And Rodney would complain the whole way (except when there is food and possibly hot tubs) and John would be uncharacteristically cheerful just to rub it in.
